Channey!! I love this obsession!! I myself have a weird obsession based relationship with donuts that started on my first trip to San Francisco. Long story short Ive found so hard to find cake donut recipes online… not that I have ever tried making fried donuts before Ive only tries baked ones from Erin McKennas book. But my absolute favorite donuts ever are from the Bay area where this relationship began jajaja from the Pepples donuts now donut farm vegan fried cake donuts. Id love if you could turn your donut diaries exploration in the direction of cake donuts… in the meantime I look forward to try the ones youve published so far :)

Love a mutual doughnut obsession!! Cake doughnuts have been on my radar, and I've been testing other baker's recipes to start. Heather from youth sweets has a really good chocolate cake doughnuts that I am like...still recovering from because it was THAT good lol. Looking forward to exploring more in that area! 💕

I've never tried homemade doughnuts before, but I'm sure they taste better than the ones in the shop. Most of the doughnuts I've had from Krispy Kreme taste like sugar. Your recipe looks fresh and flaky.

Hi there! Thank you for your comment. I don't think you necessarily did anything wrong, but you are correct in that this recipe is not quite meant to be cut in half. Were you kneading the dough using a stand mixer?
